Summary

A newly releasedStarfieldmod called Disable Dialogue Camera makes the game more immersive by stopping the camera from zooming in to first-person during conversations.Starfieldcurrently has several excellent mods, and this one can easily be considered a good pick for gamers who want dialogue to feel more natural.

Whilemany players love the dialogue inStarfield, and Bethesda has been often complimented for the quality of its writing, the same can’t be said for the character animations in the game. To make matters even worse, the camera always zooms into first person by default during conversations, making the perceived jankyness of the animations even more visible, which some gamers believe can ruin their immersion.

Now, a newStarfieldmod called Disable Dialogue Camera has been released, and it changes conversations significantly with a very small tweak in the camera’s angle. Instead of zooming in on a character’s face to show it in detail during dialogue, the mod simply keeps the camera in the third person during any chats. Discovered and shared by a gamer called Majestic_Koala567 on r/Starfied, the mod comes with a few options. On the mod’s official page, it’s stated that players can choose to force a constant first-person or third-person view when using it. The new mod is currently available for both Steam players and those enjoying the title via Xbox Game Pass. However, quite a few tweaks are required before it can work on Xbox.

Like similar projects that aim to improve the overall experience of playingStarfield, this mod is focused on actually enhancing immersion. However, there’s no shortage of mods that do the opposite, andStarfieldhas some very cursed modsavailable right now. A few examples include a mod that inserts Garfield into the game’s starting screen, a flashlight with the face of Nicolas Cage, and even some mods that swap the voices of specific characters for some funnier ones.

At the moment, gamers can find quite a few excellent mods, butStarfieldfans can expect even better mods to appear in the near future. Recently, Todd Howard confirmed thatmod support is coming forStarfieldin 2024. While there is no specific date for this option to be available, it’s certain that having a specific tool will make modding easier and add support for even more mods, allowingStarfieldto realize its full potential and offer even more options for players.
