Update: It appears as though Sony has actually used the “It’s time to play” slogan in previous marketing materials. This means nothing in the PS5 leak has actually been corroborated, and fans should treat it with a lot more skepticism. Original story follows.

As anticipation builds for aPlayStation 5reveal, rumors continue to mount about what the next-generation console will entail. Most of these rumors can be dismissed as merely made-up Internet gossip, but one that has been getting some attention lately has just gotten some extra credibility thanks to the PlayStation Europe Twitter account.

For the uninitiated, abig PS5 leakappeared on 4chan last week, and has since been posted on Reddit and other forums. The supposed leak makes a ton of ambitious claims about the PlayStation 5 console, and many have written it off as fake. However, there is one claim in the leak that has since been corroborated by the PlayStation Europe Twitter account, and it has to do with the PS5’s slogan. The leak claimed that PlayStation’s new slogan for the PS5 and PlayStation brand in general would be “It’s time to play,” and now the PlayStation Europe Twitter has added that phrase to its bio.

This could be merely a coincidence, or it could be a sign that this particular PS5 leak is legitimate. If so, it reveals a ton of information about the next-generation console, including the PS5 release date, price, and more. If the leak is to be believed, fans can expect the PS5 to launch in October of this year for $499, and they can circle February 5 on their calendar as the date of the PS5 reveal.

The PS5 reveal event will apparently reveal some of the first PS5 games, which will include a peak at some of its launch titles. The rumored PS5 launch titles reportedly includeGran Turismo 7,MLB: The Show 2,Demon’s Souls Remastered,Godfall, and a new IP from Sony Santa Monica Studio calledLegendz. Besides PS5 launch titles, the leak says that the February 5 PS5 reveal event will also give players their first look atHorizon 2,Spider-Man 2, a newCrash Bandicootgame, a new sci-fi IP from Naughty Dog, new IPs from Japan Studio and London Studio,Final Fantasy 16, and anewResident Evilgame.

If the leak is true, then the rumored PS5 reveal event will be massive, but while the PlayStation Europe Twitter does corroborate one claim made in the leak, there’s also evidence working against it. The leak claims that Sony will be at E3 2020, but it’s since been confirmed thatSony is skipping E3 yet again this year.

There’s evidence of the leak being real and there’s evidence that it’s fake. Luckily, thePS5 reveal eventwill apparently take place in just a couple of weeks time, so fans don’t have to wait long to find out for sure.
