It’s been a few weeks now since the launch ofNew World, the new fantasy MMORPG from Amazon Games. Players have spread all across the island of Aeternum in that time, fighting, exploring, and crafting. Unlike many MMOs,New Worldputs a special focus on its crafting and survival mechanics.
There are 17Trade Skills inNew Worldfor players to master, ranging from fishing to furnishing. The latter of these is essential for any player that wants a cozy or impressive home to come back to after a long day adventuring. At first glance, Furnishing may seem unimportant to some players, but it’s not all about cosmetics. Furnishing also allows the creation of vital storage items and trophies.

How to Level Furnishing in New World
Before players can start Furnishing, they’ll need access to one ofNew World’s crafting Workshops. Each Workshop has a different tier rating, and higher-tier Furnishing recipes can only be made using higher-tier Workshops. In addition, using a Workshop in an occupied Settlement will require players to pay a small fee.
Like allskills inNew World, playersgain Furnishing XP simply by using the skill. Basic recipes give small amounts of XP, enough to get through the lower levels, while top-tier furniture will give the most XP. However, crafting the best furniture in the game will require players to buy or make a lot of rare materials, which in turn may require high levels of other Trade Skills to acquire.

How to Farm Furnishing XP in New World
Unfortunately for players hoping to farm their way to top-tier furniture, Furnishing is one of the hardest skills tolevel up inNew World. This is partly because each level takes significantly more XP to increase than other skills, but also becauseFurnishing Recipes require a lot more refined ingredients than most. Therefore, when trying to farm Furnishing XP players should stick to the simplest recipes for their rank.
A good starting recipe is theWarm Iron Sconce - Bright, which simply requiresTimber, Iron Ingots, and Oil, three of the mostcommon resources inNew World. This should be enough to get players to at least level 50, and with some grinding, all the way to level 100.
From level 100 onwards, players should focus primarily onStains, includingMaple, Oak, and Mahogany. These are relatively easy to create by combiningSolvent and Oil. Solvent can be found in chests throughout Aeternum, or can be converted from other refined materials using a Material Converter, provided the player has reached at least level 100 in any of the Refining Skills.
