At its core,Call of Duty: Warzoneis not extremely different from thebattle royale gamesthat have come before it, but this brand new title does have some unique systems in place that make it standout. One such system gives players the ability to purchase their own custom loadouts during a match ofCall of Duty: Warzone, and while indeed some fans are happy with the system as is, others are certainly not.
Case in point: extremely-popular streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has recently voiced his opinions onCall of Duty: Warzone’s custom loadout feature, and they are not particularly positive. Specifically, Ninja states that giving players access to custom loadouts means that “everyone has a thermal sniper,” ultimately leading to “much less variety” across matches. Ninja goes on to say that it is “annoying” to be sniped by so many other players, and this is a sentiment that some fans will undoubtedly agree with.

For the uninitiated, battle royale games typically require players to make do with the weapons that they find scattered throughout the map over the course of a match. This approach leads to matches where players simply never get access to their preferred weapons, as well as matches where they find everything that their hearts desire, giving these games an element of randomness thatCall of Duty: Warzone’s custom loadoutsystem works to minimize.
For some players, this move away from randomness will feel like a marked improvement, as it means that they can get their favorite weapons every match, provided that they are able to secure enoughcash inCall of Duty: Warzone. However, others certainly believe that random weapon acquisition is part of the battle royale genre’s appeal, and it seems that Ninja stands strongly in that camp.
Thus far, there has been no indication that Infinity Ward and Raven Software are planning to change custom loadouts inCall of Duty: Warzone, but perhaps some adjustments will be made if high-profile players continue to voice frustration with the current system. For now, though, the developers seem primarily focused onfixingCall of Duty: Warzonebugs, and custom loadouts are likely to remain untouched for the time being.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
