While Moon Studios has seen plenty of buzz surroundingNo Rest for the Wicked, the Early Access launch hasn’t always been a smooth one. The community has highlighted a number of issues with the game, though the developer has been very quick to issuenew updates forNo Rest for the Wickedto add quality of life improvements, fix bugs, as well as tweak the gameplay experience for elements and mechanics that may not be functioning as well as expected. With that said, Moon Studios has released thethird update, bringing some of the biggest changes to the game yet.
Early Access Hotfix 3 addresses a large number of issues plaguingNo Rest for the Wicked, including a huge list of bug fixes as well. Moon Studios continues to quickly respond to player feedback during the Early Access period, and tweaking various gameplay elements like adjusting Dig Spot rates for improved Clay drops while also reducing the number of hits needed to mine or dig, improving the behavior of certain enemies including the Nith Screamer and Shackled Brute.Parrying inNo Rest for the Wickedhas also been updated so that it now consumes stamina. Moon Studios has also added numerous gameplay settings while also fixing issues related to HDR rendering.
However, for many players, the biggest piece to Hotfix 3 is with the various performance improvements. ManyNo Rest for the Wickedplayers have reported game crashes and low FPS, so these improvements should go a long way to improving the overall experience. Performance updates in Hotfix 3 include less aggressive Dynamic Resolution Scaling, improved offscreen physics culling, as well as additional shader, weather effects, and memory optimizations. A member of the dev team also indicated that bird animations were also negatively impacting game performance, so this update also makes various improvements there as well.
Although the game launched only a few days ago in Early Access, it has seemingly been all hands on deck at Moon Studios as new updates have been released at a rapid pace. Alongside these hotfixes,Moon Studios released a roadmap forNo Rest for the Wickedto help set expectations in terms of some of the bigger content additions. While there are no solid dates yet, Update 1 will include multiplayer, both through 4 player co-op as well as PvP. Beyond that is Update 2, which Moon Studios calls “The Breach” and aims to include new enemies, loot, and regions to explore.
