The COVID-19 pandemic hit the anime industry as hard as anybody else, pushing back an entire slate of shows leaving spring and summer a little fallow. If there was ever a sliver of good to come out of all of that its a list of returning shows released by Crunchyroll that shows many old favorites returning to the air.
Among the list are two popular showspushed back due to COVID-19: the phrenetic volleyball animeHaikyu!! To The Topand the popular fantasy animeIs It Wrong To Try and to Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon?(Commonly known by a shortened version of its Japanese name DanMachi.) Both shows had abbreviated seasons in the spring and will finally wrap up their fourth and third seasons respectively starting in the fall.Haikyu!!Resumes its season on September 22 while DanMachi returns on October 2.

Two other notable anime that are slated to make a scheduled return this fall are the war epicGolden KamuyandYashahime: Princess Half-Demon,a surprising continuation of the popular fantasy animeInuyasha.Golden Kamuyfollows a veteran of the Russo-Japanese war namedSaichi Sugimoto and his Ainu partner Asirpa as they chase a treasure trove of hidden gold. The show begins its third season on October 5. WhileInuyashuwrapped up its final season way back in 2004, the series gets a revival of sorts when it returns with the spinoff showYasahimeon October 3.
These four shows do not constitute the full list of returning shows coming to the fall, but they do provide a snapshot of an industrybouncing back from the pandemicwith some of the more popular shows picking up where they left off following delays. Here is a full list of returning anime:

Announcements about the fall season are starting to trickle in, but the start of fall is still a few weeks away. There may still be some surprises in store about what may be coming.
