This month,Amazon Prime Gamingmembers are able to grabAssassin’s Creed Originsfor their Ubisoft Connect libraries. Ubisoft is giving this away throughAmazon Prime Gamingto celebrate the 15th anniversary of theAssassin’s Creedfranchise, and players have until October 3 to add it to their library. They will be able to experience the beginning of the assassin brotherhood in Ancient Egypt, and it is a great way to celebrate this influential franchise.
Assassin’s Creed Originstells the story of the assassinsbefore they were known as the assassins. It is a very interesting look into the past of the brotherhood, and was one of the first RPG titles in the series. However, it should not be the onlyAssassin’s Creedgame that Prime Gaming offers in celebration of the 15th anniversary. There have been 12 mainline titles in the series and a couple of spin-offs that would all make great additions to Prime Gaming, and it would take the celebration to the next level.

Assassin’s Creed Origins Explained
Assassin’s Creed Originsbrings players back to the beginning of the creed in Ancient Egypt. They take control of Bayekand go on an adventure across Egypt to take out the Order of the Ancients, an order that will one day become the Templars. It is a really fun title that helped revitalize a franchise that was becoming stale, and it is a great addition to Prime Gaming’s monthly lineup.
The title marked a new beginning for the franchise, and its success spawned twosimilar titles withOdysseyandValhalla. While the later titles were criticized for moving away from the core Assassin and Templar story,Originsis heavily rooted in that mythos. It is a great experience for those who want to see some of the earliest days of this conflict that has spanned history, and the gameplay is solid. Later entries seemed to get even larger and more ambitious, butOriginsfeels like that sweet spot between too little and too much.

Prime Gaming Should Offer More Assassin’s Creed Games
Throughout the year, Ubisoft has been celebratingthe 15th anniversary ofAssassin’s Creedwith all sorts of different things. It has been spending each month tracing the history of the franchise, offered various bits of content in games likeAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, and capped it off by shedding light on what the future will hold. MakingAssassin’s Creed Originsfree to Prime Gaming members is just another way that Ubisoft is celebrating, and the celebration should not end there.
BeforeAssassin’s Creed Originsreleased, the series had already had nine mainline titles. These titles explored all sorts of different historical periods and played host to a great cast of characters. Players were able to explore Renaissance Italy as Ezio, the Industrial Revolution in London as the Frye twins, the American Revolution asConnor Kenway, the holy lands as Altair, and even the high seas as Captain Edward Kenway. All these characters and locations would all make great additions to the Prime Gaming lineup.
Assassin’s Creedis one of Ubisoft’s flagship franchisesand reaching its 15th year is pretty impressive. Being able to experience the beginning of the creed withAssassin’s Creed Originsis a great treat for Prime Gaming members, but that should only be the beginning of the celebration. There are so many other titles in the series that should join the lineup, and there is no better time lime the present. Letting players experience just what makes this franchise so great for free would be the best way to celebrate it, and an even better way to build anticipation for its bright future.
