Marvel’s Midnight Sunsis an eclectic blend of gameplay features that all create a satisfying effect in unison. On the one hand,Marvel’s Midnight Sunsis a gridless tactical RPG, while on the other it is a social RPG with an emphasis on exploration throughout the Abbey grounds.Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ opening hours are all dedicated to introducing these features in a lengthy tutorial, and more features continue opening up as players progress.
This is achieved primarily through a day-and-night cycle, where players take care of most of their duties and activities throughout the day before going on a combat mission that takes until night. Players return to the Abbey and have several other activities they can take part in, but one customization feature makes each new day seem likea unique day in the Hunter’s lifeas they enjoy their stay and continue to develop relationships with other characters.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns Truly Invokes a Lived-In Abbey
Marvel’s Midnight Sunsis expansive but still manages to maintain its intimate, familial atmosphere while players interact with other characters. The day-and-night cycle is imperative to this atmosphere since it gives players the impression that real time is spent with characters such as Carol Danvers, Robbie Reyes, or Nico Minoru.
If players see Superlink messages from certain characters, they must pursue them in order to spend more time with a character, and some messages may be notifying players that one of the three clubs is meeting that night. In that case, players can choose to clear their schedules for that night following a combat mission to attend.

There are also regular hangouts and Haven dates that players can take characters out on in order to increase their friendship levels. These are all fantastic features for players to get to knowiconic Marvel characters inMarvel’s Midnight Suns, but one of the game’s customization features embellishes the day-and-night cycle further: an option to have purchased skins rotate daily.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ Skins Can Help Each Day Feel Refreshing
There are many casual Abbey skins that players can equip for characters, while only a select few skins are available for characters in combat. This gives players an opportunity to get to know characters beneath their masks, such asMarvel’s Midnight Suns’ Spider-Man, who is initially concerned about revealing his secret identity at the Abbey.
Soon after, Peter Parker reveals himself and players are able to purchase casual clothing for him and any other character with the gloss resource. Interestingly, players will notice that there is an option to have characters wear their combat-oriented costumes atMarvel’s Midnight Suns’ Abbeyinstead.
Moreover, players can choose to have selected cosmetics rotate on a day-to-day basis. Being able to have skins randomly shuffled each day is a wonderfully immersive feature since it does not require players to dress their characters. If clothing was exclusively static, it could make each day blur since characters would always be wearing the same attire.
But if players turn on the Change Outfit Daily tab in the customization menu for each character, days can feel more unique as a result. Of course, many fans may be much more inclined to stick their characters with a single, preferred skin, rather than rotating daily through others.
There are several cosmetics for each character and as such, it is natural that players will find a few they like, while some cosmetics are also attuned to the clubs that characters are affiliated with. Players can therefore decide how immersive they would like to be with each character in whichever circumstances or days they would like.
Marvel’s Midnight Sunsis available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4, Switch, and Xbox One versions coming later.
