After returning from its month-long hiatus with an absolutely incredible chapter last week, Eiichiro Oda’sOne Piececontinued very strong with Chapter 1055 as well. In the previous chapter, fans got to see the reaction to Luffy’s new status as one of the Yonko from the likes of the Navy and even the Red Hair Pirates. Shanks, along with his entire crew, were seen in great detail in the chapter and they decided to finally enter the race for the One Piece as well. At the same time, Green Bull demonstrated his abilities against the 9 Red Scabbards, along with Momonosuke and Yamato.

One Piece1055 continued from there and showed the fans an incredible clash between the two sides. At the same time, the chapter also went over some deep lore of both the Wano Country and the Pluton, and to top things off, fans also got tosee quite a lot of Red-Haired Shanksonce again.
Momonosuke Awakens His Ability
In the previous chapter, fans got to see Momonosuke take on Green Bull all by himself in combat and while that could’ve proved to be quite a stupid decision on his part, it ended up working in his favor. Upon being hurt byGreen Bull’s Mori Mori no Mi powers, Momonosuke was able to finally tap into the powers of his Devil Fruit. The trigger for this was his loved ones in the form of the Scabbards and Yamato being hurt. While by teaming up with Yamato, Momonosuke could very well have made a bigger difference in the battle, however, he wanted to prove himself worthy of being the one to handle the burdens of the land of Wano. In an impressive fashion, Momonosuke was able to save everyone around him from Green Bull’s ability by using the power of Borobreath, one of Kaido’s signature abilities. Using this attack again, he was also able to damage Green Bull and show him that the land of Wano was actually very determined to hold its own against any intruders.

Shanks Shows Off His Haki
While Momonosuke’s bravery was certainly commendable and earned him praise from not just Green Bull but also the Scabbards, it was Shanks who ended up saving the day. Shanks was seen in the waters around Wano Country in the previous chapter and while he had no intention of entering the country to see Luffy, he also didn’t quite entertain the idea of Green Bull going after the exhausted pirates of the Worst Generation who changed history by taking down Kaido and Big Mom.
To him, that was rather tasteless and, true to his personality in the story so far, he was able to save the day by showing a glimpse of his powers. Surprisingly,Shanks was able to unleash his Conqueror’s Hakifrom far off and direct it towards Green Bull. By hitting him with his Haki, Shanks was able to easily threaten him and tell him that if he wants to pick a fight, he’s going to have to deal with the Yonko as well. Having no intention to fight, Green Bull was easily scared off and left the country empty-handed. Undoubtedly, Shanks showing off his Haki was certainly quite an incredible moment for the fans to witness.

The True Wano Country Of The Old
Along with the incredibly exciting stuff that involved Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates,One Piecechapter 1055 also delivered some incredible stuff pertaining to the lore of the world through Kozuki Sukiyaki. As Trafalgar Law, Nico Robin, and Sukiyaki went deep under the land of Wano andcloser to the Road Poneglyph, the true history of the country was finally revealed to the fans. According to Sukiyaki, the real land of Wano is now underwater. 800 years ago, Wano was much bigger than it is now and lay on sea level, as opposed to being on top of a waterfall. At some point, barriers were erected around the country, and thus the rainwater accumulated inside.
Consequently, a giant pool of water formed inside and atop that is where the current land of Wano was created by the residents of the old Wano. It is unknown as to why the barriers were erected around the land of Wano and what happened to the old country, however, it is well preserved even 800 years later. People who lived in the old Wano had to leave their land and then went to settle in the new land of Wano and that is how the current Wano was created. Even further below the land of Wano is where the Ancient Weapon Pluton rests. To open the borders of Wano Country means to literally destroy the barriers around it and, in the process, unleash the Ancient Weapon Pluton on the world.

For now, Momonosuke has decided to not open the country’s borders, however, in time the barrier will certainly be destroyed and the Ancient Weapon will be set loose on the world for the first time since the Void Century. One Piece1055certainly gave fans quite a lot of interesting lore and delivered further exposition in regards to the borders of Wano, which is certainly what fans expected. Moving on, fans should expect a bit more of an adventure in the land of Wanobefore the arc finally wraps upand a new arc begins.
