The upcoming JRPG by Bandai Namco,One Piece Odyssey, just announced the trophies for the game. It looks similar toJump Force, but the gameplay is entirely different– a twist on the turn-based genre that lines up with the atmosphere of the show and allows the characters that makeOne Piecewhat it is to shine. The transition of Eiichiro Oda’s designs to a grind-heavy JRPG inOne Piece Odysseyseems tricky, but the way it’s done makes the world colorful and populated by interestingly zany characters. Like Monkey D. Luffy has a long way to go to become King of the Pirates, players have a lot to do before they become Odyssey Master.
Just likethe classic animeOne Piece, which at this point has 1,043 episodes (416 hours of content) to watch through in order for new fans to catch up, players will have to grind a lot in order to complete the trophy list in the game. At leastOne Piece Odysseyshakes up standard RPG combat with a twist in line with the show, and the NPCs are fan-favorite characters. There’s plenty of opportunity for fan service in an open-world game full of side quests.

The list of trophies inOne Piece Odysseyhas been revealed via PSNProfiles. There are 51 trophies in total, 10 of which players can acquire just by finishing the game’s story and side missions. The bulk of the remaining trophies are unlocked by collecting items, winning battles, and crafting. Most of the players' time will be spent collecting cube fragments or using the abilities ofdifferent Straw Hat crew membersto collect character-specific items. The player will also need to acquire 20 million berries and defeat a list of challenge enemies twice. Fans need to one-hundred-percent the game in order to get all the trophies.
The turn-based combat ofOne Piece Odysseymay be enough to catch fans' attention and keep it engaging long enough for them to grind through, as it isn’t the standard format. Just like an episode ofOne Piece, in which all the characters, while lovable and strong, are horrible with direction and always wind up separated and in their own battles,One Piece Odysseyseparates the player’s party into zones, with each member of the party in their own fight.
One Piece Odysseytrophy-hunting is a grind-heavy experience, but if someone is used to JRPG games like this then they have to fall in love with the grind to an extent. But there are different levels of grind, andOne Pieceis known for being a satisfying climb.
One Piece Odysseylaunches on January 13 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
