Being a Yonko, Big Mom had her own territories, which were out of the reach of everyone including the Marines. They knew that if they tried to invade any of her territories, they would be risking an all-out war with Big Mom. One of Big Mom’s territories was Fish-Man Island, but after Luffy’s exploits, he took it under his wing. Despite losing Fish-Man Island to Luffy, Big Mom still had Totto Land, which is a massive territory, and Big Mom ruled over it. She oversaw over every single thing that took place in the territory. Big Mom’s status as a Yonko prevented any foreign interference and kept the populace safe.
However, Big Mom’s reign as one of the Yonko came to an end in the Wano Country arc. In the arc, Big Mom took on the combined team of Eustass Kid and Trafalgar Law. The two Supernovas knew that they needed something special to defeat someone like her, so they used their devil fruits awakenings and after an intense fight, Big Mom rested in a pool of magma. Whether she is dead or will she survive is irrelevant, but she has lost her position in the Yonko. This effectively makes Totto Land a normal island with pirates, and since their main base is Whole Cake Island, the Big Mom Pirates could be in for a world of trouble as it won’t be long before the big names inOne Piecestart making their moves.

The Navy
The Navy is aware of Big Mom’s downfall, so it is entirely plausible to assume that they could attempt to attack Whole Cake Island and take advantage of the situation. While the Big Mom Piratesdo have some very strong fighters back in Whole Cake Island, most of the high-ranked officers went with Big Mom on her journey to Wano. They tried to get into Wano several times, but they were stopped twice—first by King and then Marco. After being knocked down twice, only Perospero was seen in Wano.
This could mean that either the remaining members of the crew went back to Whole Cake Island, or that they were trying to climb the waterfall again. The crew is fiercely loyal to Big Mom, so it would make sense for them to try and get into Wano. Yet at the same time, they have already tried twice and both times it has ended in failure. Furthermore, the crew wouldhave never expected Big Mom to fall in Wano. The smart move for them would be to head back to Whole Cake Island and guard the territory. If they do end up going back to Whole Cake Island, they could easily fend off the Navy.

The Pirate Onslaught
Like the Navy, the pirates have their own reasons for infiltrating and crushing the Big Mom Pirates. The biggest reason behind their possible attacks on Whole Cake Island is that Big Mom has one of the four Road Poneglyphs. The Road Poneglyphs are definitelya bigger treasure than all the gold, and jewels put together because they can guide a person to Laugh Tale, which holds the greatest treasure in the world— One Piece.
There are a total of four Road Ponegylphs in the world. They are located in Wano, Whale Forest (Zou), and Whole Cake Island. The location of the fourth and final Road Poneglyph is unknown, though it will definitely be disclosed later on in the series. This leaves three known locations, and anyone who wants to become the Pirate King will have to claim them.

Logically, the easiest place to go to is Whole Cake Island as, presently its defenses are very weak. While they still have an incredible fighter in Charlotte Katakuri, there is a limit to how many attacks he can repel.
If someone like Blackbeard decides to invade, then there isn’t much that Katakuri can do on his own. It will very likely end with the remnants of the Big Mom Pirates being defeated and Blackbeard and his crew taking the Road Poneglyph and possibly some devil fruits. Many might argue that Blackbeard will not go to Whole Cake Island, but he is known for being an opportunist. He carefully plans his every single move and when he manages to find out that Whole Cake Island is almost unguarded, then he will very likely pillage it. So, is there no way that Whole Cake Island can be protected?
Pledging Allegiance
With Big Mom and Prospero gone, Katakuri is in line to become the new captain of the Big Mom Pirates, there is a small yet possible chance that hemight join the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Luffy and Katakuri have a lot of respect for each other, and after Luffy won the fight, he placed his fedora on Katakuri’s face because of the latter’s insecurity. Another possible reason that this alliance is that Luffy gets along with people of every race, and considering how prevalent racism is in the world ofOnePiece, it would be a smart move to put an island with immense diversity under Luffy’s protection. This would solve the problem and ensure that the territory remains safe.
The other way of ensuring the survival of Whole Cake Island is by joining the Cross Guild and serving under Buggy. There is no doubt that the Cross Guild would want a powerful member such as Charlotte Katakuri in their ranks. With him joining the organization, Katakuri would be able to protect the Whole Cake Island from various kinds of threats. Needless to say, the Big Mom Pirates will most likely have role to play in the final saga.
