Oda was always saving the Five Eldersfor the Final Sagaand, going by the way he has talked about them in the past, fans should expect them to have very pronounced rules in the story from here onwards. Fans finally received the names of all the members of the Five Elders recently and one of them is Saint Shepherd Ju Peter, who has caught the eyes of many fans for various reasons.
Who Is Saint Shepherd Ju Peter?
Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is the blonde member of the Gorosei that fans have theorized quite a lot about in the past. A very popular idea was that this character is connected to Sanji in some way, however, with actual information on him and the other members of the Five Elders now, it has now been confirmed that he has nothing in common with Sanji or the Germa Kingdom. Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is one of the five highest-ranking members of the Celestial Dragons, at least to the common people. He hails from the Shepherd Family, which is one of the Founding 20 families that joined forces to fight off the Ancient Kingdom and destroy them. At the end of the Great War that plagued the Void Century, the Shepherd Family moved to the Holy Land of Marijoa and became Celestial Dragons.
While the world perceives Saint Shepherd Ju Peter and the other members of the Five Elders to be the highest authority, that is far from the case. In truth, the highest authority within the hierarchy of the World Government is none other thanSaint Imu of the Nerona Family. Saint Imu was also one of the Founding 20 members, as was confirmed recently inOne Piecechapter 1086. It has been theorized by Ivankov that Imu became immortal through the powers of the Ope Ope no Mi and that is how they made the Five Elders bow down to their will.

Saint Shepherd Ju Peter, along with the others, decided to serve Imu for reasons yet unexplained, and it’s possible that they have been doing so since the events of the Void Century itself.

A very popular idea among the fans is that Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is immortal. This is backed up by the fact that he has not aged at all since the beginning of the story. In fact, Saint Shepherd Ju Peter has also appeared in quite a few flashbacks, such as the Ohara flashback of Nico Robin which took place nearly 22 years ago and, at the same time, when he met Vegapunk, which was at some point between 30 and 40 years ago inOne Piece. The fact that he has not aged at all implies that Imu might not be the only one to possess immortality inOne Piece. The Five Elders, including Ju Peter, are also immortal beings. That said, it is yet unknown how they could attain immortality as well, since there’s only one way to gain such a power in One Piece.
Nonetheless, what fans do know is that, at some point, Saint Shepherd Ju Peter, or his family ancestors, ended up fighting in a war to destroy the Ancient Kingdom. Following the war, they swore a vow in front of the Empty Throne, which entailed the promise that there wouldn’t be a single ruler of the world. There are 19 weapons placed in front of the Empty Throne, which means a member of the Shepherd Family also placed their weapon in front of it. This person could very well have been Saint Shepherd Ju Peter, however, nothing can be said for sure just yet.

Ju Peter As The Warrior God Of Agriculture
Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is an extremely important character and moving forward, fans will see him play a very intriguing role inOne Piece. In fact, his role within the World Government was also revealed to the fans very recently. Every member of the Five Elders appears to be a Warrior God. The meaning of this title is quite clear. The term “God” comes from the fact that they are Celestial Dragons. Fans already know that the Celestial Dragons believe themselves to be the Gods of the world as they are the direct descendants of those who created the current world order as the fans know it. The “Warrior” part of the title comes from the fact that Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is actually a combatant as well.
Very few members of the Celestial Dragons are capable of fighting and even fewer are capable of doing so at the highest level. Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is certainly one of them and for that reason,he is a Warrior God, just like the other members of the Five Elders. Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is believed to be the Warrior God of Agriculture. What exactly this means remains to be seen. It could be that Saint Shepherd Ju Peter takes charge of all things related to agriculture in the world ofOne Piece.Or, it could simply mean that he has powers related to agriculture in some way or form. Fans will have to wait and see for themselves what the significance of this title is.

How Strong Is Saint Shepherd Ju Peter?
As a member of the Five Elders, Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is extremely powerful. For the longest time, some fans had the misconception that the Five Elders are not capable fighters and just political figures within the World Government who command others to do their dirty work for them. However, this notion was shattered recently inOne Piecechapter 1085, where the Gorosei stood up to Sabo and revealed the silhouette of their demonic Devil Fruit transformations.
It has now been confirmed thatevery single member of the Five Elders is a Devil Fruit userand that also means that Saint Shepherd Ju Peter possesses a Devil Fruit power under his belt. Sadly for the fans, the Devil Fruit ability of Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is the hardest to make out from the bunch. Oda only gave fans their silhouettes and, looking at his, it appears to be some sort of demonic entity with a huge gaping mouth. This could be any creature in theOne Pieceworld, however, what fans can assume with fair accuracy is the fact that the Devil Fruit that he possesses is likely a Mythical Zoan. This is because all the members of the Five Elders appear to be Zoan users and, given that Mythical Zoans are the rarest class of all, it would make sense for them to have this Devil Fruit type.
What creature Saint Shepherd Ju Peter can transform into is unknown at this point. However, that isn’t the only power that he likely possesses up his sleeve. It must be remembered that the Gotosei say are quite powerful and Haki should not be a foreign concept to them.
All the members of the Five Elders should be capable users of Haki at a very high level. Saint Shepherd Ju Peter himself should be a great user of both Observation and Armament Haki. Furthermore, given that he comes from a line of the 20 Kings, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone if Saint Shepherd Jupiter has the power of the Color of the Supreme King as well.
