Summary
Overwatch 2has seemingly delayed the start of Season 10 from April 7 to April 16. Though it did not have a concrete release date before, it seems like players will have to wait an extra week to try out Venture, the 40th hero inOverwatch 2.
Season 9 ofOverwatch 2just released a big midseason patchroughly a month after the update’s launch, indicating it was about halfway through its life cycle. With each season ofOverwatch 2being around eight weeks long, the in-game Battle Pass timer had listed the end of Season 9 to be on April 6, meaning Season 10 would begin the next day on April 7.

However, it appears as ifOverwatch 2has quietly bumped back the projected start date of Season 10 by a week. As of a recent update, the Season 9 Battle Pass interface now indicates players have an additional seven days to complete it. Unless it is delayed further, it now seems likeSeason 10 ofOverwatch 2will begin on April 16, rather than April 7.
Overwatch 2 Season 10 Release Pushed Back One Week
The original April 7 release date forOverwatch 2Season 10 was not an official one, but rather one derived from the in-game interface. UntilOverwatch 2reveals a concrete launch date as it has done in previous seasons, it is possible Season 10 could be delayed further, though it certainly won’t arrive earlier than April 16 now.
The 10th season ofOverwatch 2is adding Venture, the first DPS hero since Sojourn. The subterranean explorer is the 40th playable hero inOverwatch 2, the first of three planned for 2024, and the game’s first nonbinary character. Were they not exciting enough,Overwatch 2also confirmed Wrecking Ball was getting a small reworkin Season 10, so fans will have two new hero kits to experiment with when the update arrives.
On the bright side, the delay of Season 10 means players have an extra week to work on their Battle Pass for Season 9. Fans can collect all sorts of eldritch horror-themed cosmetics, with the Mythic Ancient Caller Moira skin awaitingOverwatch 2players who purchase the premium upgrade. In-game events for the Hero Mastery: Gauntlet game mode, as well as theOverwatch 2collaboration withCowboy Bebop, are currently ongoing, each of which offers tons of ways to earn Battle Pass experience. These challenges should give fans plenty to do over the next month as they wait for Season 10.
