PlayStationhas discounted nearly 2,000 games and DLCs as part of its latest Planet of the Discounts promotion. The newly launched sale went live mere hours ahead of Sony’smuch-anticipated PlayStation Showcase, which is taking place later today.
While frequent themed sales are one of the majoradvantages that the PlayStation Store offers over Nintendo and Xbox, Sony’s digital storefront also holds the occasional Planet of the Discounts promotion. Like that name suggests, these promos do away with themes in favor of offering deep discounts on as many products as possible.

True to that tradition, thefirst Planet of the Discounts sale since February 2022encompasses nearly 2,000 games and DLCs for the PS4, PS5, PS VR, and PS VR2. While Sony’s official announcement of the promotion lists 1,898 such products, the PlayStation Store itself currently has 1,922 discounts listed as part of the sale. The promo runs until Wednesday, June 7, at 11:59pm local time.
The bulk of the newly launched sale centers on special game offers, of which there are nearly 1,200 to choose from. The promo includes steep discounts on many first-partyPlayStationhits, including 50% off onGod of War,Ratchet & Clank,Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, andHorizon Zero Dawn, as well as 60% off onDays Gone. As for third parties, the remakes ofResident Evil 2andResident Evil 3are both currently available at 75% off, much likeAce Combat 7,South Park: The Fractured but Whole, and multipleFar Crytitles. Rockstar is also participating in the newly launched sale, with its discounts on the likes ofRead Dead Redemption 2andGrand Theft Auto 5being in the ballpark of 70%.
The 2023 edition of Planet of the Discounts also offers substantial savings on many virtual reality titles, includingMarvel’s Iron Man VRandDoom 3: VR Edition, which are now available at 50% and 60% off, respectively. One of steepest price cuts in this category was given toV-Rally 4, which is currently retailing at just $2.99, 90% down its regular price. 70% off on critically acclaimed FPSSairento VRis another attractive offer that this two-week sale puts in front of VR gamers.
The latest PlayStation Store sale also offers deep discounts on hundreds of DLC packs, including 60% off on allFallout 4DLC and 40% off on everyDestiny 2andThe Witcher 3expansion. Overall, this newly launched promo is a great opportunity for gamers to fill out their libraries with whatever older hits are still on their wishlists before Sony details itsnext wave of games at today’s PlayStation Showcase.
