One of the most overpowered yet often overlooked Pokemon introduced in the second generation ofPokemonis Shuckle because of the hyper specific strategy using the Pokemon requires. OnePokemonfan has taken their appreciation for Shuckle beyond the games as they make a pizza version of the Pokemon.
Reddit user Melodyroselane recently shared their version of a pizza Shuckle that shows the meat of the pizza wherePokemonfans would expect the unique shell, while crust protrudes out of this central piece. Shuckle resembles a turtle, and it usually has yellow worm-like limbs coming out of a red and white shell area that houses its body and a charming face with beady eyes on its face, while the shell turns blue in the Shiny version. The Bug and Rock-type Pokemon was introduced inPokemon Gold and Silverand since then has become a fan favorite of players that utilize its toolset in competitive battles.

Melodyroselane’s Shuckle pizza shares similarities with the Rock andBug-type Pokemonfrom the middle shell which is represented by a thick pepperoni centerpiece to the worm-like limbs that are reflected by short breadsticks that attach to the pepperoni portion. The Reddit user has confirmed that they used Hormel mini pepperoni rather than traditional pizza slices which may be what properly mimics the aesthetic of the shell given how much larger most pepperoni pieces are. This pizza Shuckle’s limbs and head are significantly less yellow than the in-game counterpart, but are still light enough in color to distinguish the powerful Pokemon, with the face of it including more features than the other pieces sticking out of the pepperoni center.
The pizza Shuckle photo doesn’t only reference thePokemonseries as Melodyroselane’s creation also subtly rests atop a plate that celebrates one of the many classic Hayao Miyazaki films,My Neighbor Totoro. In thePokemongames, Shuckle is known for its impressive defense and special defense stats that allow it to survive battles longer than it otherwise would with lower stats. Shuckle has an important ability called Power Trick which allows it to get to among the highest physical attack stats in thePokemonseries in one turn which can often result in the trainer dominatingmultiplayerPokemonbattles.
Given that the next generation ofPokemonbegins withPokemon Scarlet and Violet, it’s currently unclear if Shuckle will be a prominent staple in the competitive scene moving forward. ManyPokemonfans have taken to Melodyroselane’s Shuckle pizza post to express their appreciation for the strong Pokemon, with one asking if it’s fitting to deem the pizza “shuckza,” while another corrected them with “pizzle” Some eagle-eyed anime fans noted the plate used in Melodyroselane’sPokemonpizza photo and implored them to share where they found it.
