On Reddit, a few videos have emerged on the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit that showed some different strategies that were used against Delphox the Unrivaled. In one video, aPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayer named flameduck used an Ursaluna as their main attacker in a solo battle with three AI-controlled partners. With the Guts ability, Ursaluna’s attacks are powered up if afflicted with a status condition such as a burn, whichmakes the Peat Pokemon one of the most powerful Pokemonto date. Once Delphox used Will-O-Wisp to burn Ursaluna, flameduck used Belly Drum to boost Ursaluna’s attack stat even higher. With a Normal Gem as a held item, Ursaluna used Facade to defeat Delphox the Unrivaled in one hit.

In another video, a trainer named Nommable123 used a Gholdengo along with three Perrserker in their party. As one ofthe best Ghost-type Pokemonavailable inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, Gholdengo has become a fan-favorite in recent times. With two of the Perrserker using Fake Tears and another using an attack cheer, the Gholdengo used its signature ability Make It Rain to deal super-effective Steel-type damage to Delphox. Make It Rain was bolstered by the Steely Spirit ability from each Perrserker, along with the Choice Specs item. Finally, one video showed an unconventional strategy involving baby Pokemon. With two Igglybuff and one Psyduck, a trainer named Gimikyu_ used a Spoink to defeat Delphox. After the tinyPokemonteam used various moves to buff their stats and weaken Delphox’s special defense, Spoink was able to land the finishing hit by using Stored Power.

ThoughDelphox the Unrivaled continues a risky trendinPokemon Scarlet and Violet, that has not stoppedPokemontrainers from adding the Fox Pokemon to their collection. Only time will tell what further challenges await players in the future.
