The Teal Mask DLC forPokemon Scarlet & Violetintroduces a selection of new mechanics and items, one of which is the Roto-Stick. As the name might suggest this serves as an accessory forthe player’s Rotom Phoneand works just like a traditional selfie stick, allowing players to take better snapshots using the games' photo mode.

Players will get the Roto-Stick shortly after starting their adventure in the land of Kitakami and will therefore be able to make use of it for much of their journey. How to Get the Roto-Stick in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Teal Mask DLC
Players will get the Roto-Stick automatically by playing through the DLC’s story, so won’t need to go looking for it. Shortly afterstarting the Teal Mask expansion, players will find themselves in Mossui Town. After battling Carmine and resting at the nearby community center, players will then be forced to sit through a short cutscene, during which, the caretaker of the aforementioned community center will give them a Roto-Stick to better document their time in Kitakami.
How to Use the Roto-Stick in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Teal Mask DLC
To use the Roto-Stick, players will first need to enterPokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Photo Mode, which can be achieved by pressing down on the D-pad. After that, players should switch to selfie mode by pressing the Y button, which will add the “Use Roto-Stick” prompt to the left-hand side of the screen. From here, it’s a simple case of pressing the X button to use the Roto-Stick. If players want to stop using the Roto-Stick, they can press the X button again to revert back to regular selfie mode.
While usingthe Roto-Stick, players will have a slightly wider field of view, allowing them to capture much more scenic selfies than they might otherwise be able to. By pressing the left analog stick in, they’ll be able to change the angle at which their avatar holds the stick, enabling them to choose between lower and higher angles. The former is best when players are closer to their subject while the latter is good for larger objects or things that are further away.
