While the studio usually offers a highly polished end product to go alongside its smooth gameplay,Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apartis not without a few minor technical bugs. One of the more frustrating of which is when the NPCs seem to act like there are enemies present when there are none. This wouldn’t be a massive issue, but the game’s weapon vendorMs. Zurkon also hides and won’t sellguns or upgrades to Ratchet or Rivet.
Why Does The Glitch Happen
The Ms. Zurkon hides and won’t sell glitch seems to occur almost exclusively in one area and time of the game–after completing themain story missions on Blizar Prime. As soon as the last mission ends and Rivet is back at the Mining Hub, everyone starts running like Rivet has an army of Grunthors trailing her. Ms. Zurkon does this as well and won’t let Rivet interact with her.
The glitch will continue even after traveling to other planets, including when taking control of Ratchet. The bug isn’t just a casual annoyance, as Ms. Zurkon is essential for buying and upgrading weapons inRift Apart. Not being able to interact with Ms. Zurkon also means players won’t be able to purchase the Ryno 8, an Easter-Egg-filled tool needed to complete theFully Stacked Trophy.
Thankfully, there is a quick fix that will get players back to purchasing all thebest weapons inRift Apartagain.
How To Fix The Glitch
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apartdoes not have a manual save system, so make sure anautosave has triggeredbefore doing anything else. This will already have happened if players noticed the bug at the end of Blizar Prime’s story. If the glitch occurred elsewhere, it is best to travel to another planet to trigger an autosave.
Once saved, all players have to do is:
When loaded back in,Ms. Zurkonand all other NPCs won’t be falling over themselves trying to get away from either of the Lombaxes. Players can go back to buying and upgrading their favorite weapons.
If for some reason the bug still persists, try repeating the four steps, but also restart the PS5. It is very unlikely that the glitch will continue, but if it does become a constant problem players should use acloud saveto revert to an instance before the glitch occurred. APlayStation Plus subscriptionis needed to do this.
Those playing Challenge Mode with all 24 Gold Bolts collected can addinfinite ammo and infinite healthcheats to see them through the rest of the game if none of the above options are working. This is unlikely to happen, and canceling out of the game and loading back in is almost certain to fix the Ms. Zurkon bug, and players can get back to saving the universes withRatchet and Rivet.
