Of the many exciting titles announced during the recent State of Play, the official announcement for theResident Evil 4 remakecertainly turned some heads. Though, it seems that fans can also own a memorable piece ofResident Evil 4iconography for an extremely steep price.
One aspect ofResident Evilthat tends to go often understated is the character designs. Leon Kennedy, in particular, has gone through various costume design changes over the course of the installments he has appeared in. From Leon’s R.P.D. uniform inResident Evil 2to the bomber jacket seen inResident Evil 6, Leon has had many different looks, but many consider the jacket he wears inResident Evil 4to be the most memorable. Now, fans ofResident Evil 4can actually purchase the jacket.

Over on Reddit, a user named redgrave187 noticed a small disclaimer message at the bottom of theResident Evil 4trailer. The disclaimer mentions that Leon’s jacket is used with permission from a clothing brand called Schott NYC. After doing some additional research, the user found out that the jacket is actually available on the Schott NYC website and can be purchased for $1,795.00.
For most players, paying nearly $1,800 for a jacket is quite the ridiculous sum, but in a way, it’s incredible that an item from a real-world clothing brand is being used in a video game. Then again, this isn’t the first time this has occurred, with developers likeHideo Kojimainserting clothing and eyewear from various brands into games likeDeath StrandingandMetal Gear Solid 5.
A number of hardcore fans ofResident Evil 4will likely bite the bullet and purchase the jacket, given that it’s not just being used in the upcoming remake but also is synonymous withResident Evilin general.Leon Kennedyis an important character to many fans of the series and having the jacket he wears in one of the most popularResident Eviltitles that features him would be a hallmark to any collector.
In any case, it will be interesting to see what other information gets announced aboutResident Evil 4in the coming months. Capcom already revealed that thePS5 would receive exclusive content for theResident Evil 4remake, so it’s possible that the Xbox Series X/S and the PC releases could have something similar.
