As many PlayStation fans know,Rocket Leaguewas a massive success while it was available as a free PS Plus title in 2016. Reports from early 2017 by PlayStation revealed thatRocket Leaguewas the most downloaded PS4title of 2016, beating out the likes of huge triple-a titles likeCall of DutyandBattlefield. Now,Fall Guysseems to be on track to recreate that same success. Players from all over the place are hoping on the game’s hype train and enjoying the wacky battle royale.
Fall Guyscontinues to dominate the gamingconversation on social media, with players discussing the best minigames or costumes. Capitalizing on theFall Guyscraze, ProfessionalRocket Leagueplayer and content creator Lethamyr has released an incredible video showcasing an amazing recreation of Slime Climb built inRocket League’s engine as a course in the game. The map is scaled up to better fit in with Rocket League’s unique style of movement and traversal, but the core elements of the map remain in Lethamyr’s recreation. Apparently, Lethamyr spent the majority of a recent live stream building the map with input from his chat.
While the map is still missing some features, like moving obstacles and spinning hammers, the map is a near-perfect recreation of the Slime Climb course.Rocket Leagueplayers on PC are able to download and play custom maps made by community members, and Lethamyr’s Slime Climb map is built the same way. The modding community forRocketLeagueis pretty expansive, with plenty of players creating amazing custom maps or modes. WithRocket Leaguegoing free-to-play soon, that player base is only going to get bigger.
WithFall Guys’ current track record of partnering up with popular game franchises and IPs, there is still a good chance that a possibleRocket Leaguecollab could show up in the game’s future. Considering Mediatonic specifically citedRocket Leagueas an inspiration, it would not come as a surprise.Fall Guyssold over 2 million copies on Steamin it’s first few days of release, so surely the game has caught the eye of the developers at Psyonix.
Rocket Leagueis available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
