FortniteSeason 5 just started this past week, but it’s already shaping up to be one of the most ambitious seasons of the battle royale yet. Things kicked off with aMandaloriancrossover, and the game has since addedGod of War’s Kratos to the mix as well. Rumors indicate thatHalo’s Master Chief will soon be added as aFortniteskin, and there are plenty of other leaks to give fans an idea of what they can expect from the game as the season goes on.
OneFortniterumor suggests that the battle royale will soon be adding wolves. This rumor originated from YouTuber Tabor Hill, known for their accurateFortniteleaks. In a YouTube video that aired days prior toFortniteSeason 5’s start, Hill made the claim that tamable wolves would be coming to the game in some capacity. Since Hill’s video, however, there’s been even more compelling evidence pointing toFortniteSeason 5 adding wolves.

A few days after Hill’s video, Epic Games confirmed thatKratos fromGod of Warwould be featured in the new season ofFortnite. Kratos was announced for the game with a short trailer that, as pointed out by FortniteIntel, showed him fighting a wolf. Needless to say, this seems to be the best indication to date thatFortnitewill indeed be adding wolves at some point later in the season.
This wouldn’t be the first time thatFortnitehas added animals to the battle royale map. The start ofFortnite’s big Chapter 2 update saw the addition of fish to the game, with players able to use fishing rods to catch and collect them. Then earlier this year,Fortniteadded loot sharks, which were found in the water that covered the BR map for quite some time.
FortniteSeason 5 has ushered in a brand new battle royale maps for fans of the game to explore, which consists of new and familiar locations. And in the case ofSalty Towers, amalgamation of some of the game’s previous named areas. This newFortnitemap features significantly less water than the previous map, so it makes sense for it to add a land-based animal instead of something like sharks.
Of course, the wolf in theFortniteKratos announcement trailer could simply be used byEpic Gamesto highlight the new character and may not mean anything significant beyond that. Fans shouldn’t count onFortniteSeason 5 adding wolves until an official announcement is made.
Fortniteis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
