This past week saw the beginning ofDestiny 2’s Season of Dawn.Destiny 2’s seasons bring with them a variety of new content and a continuation of theDestinystory. The Season of Dawn started with “An Impossible Task,” with the legendary Warlock Osiris tasking players with rescuing the legendary titan Saint-14. A week later andDestiny 2has moved forward in time. Saint-14 is back among the living and has created a space in the Tower for himself.
Saint-14 can be found in the Tower’s hangar, in the eastern part of the Tower’s map. He’s standing in front of his ship with all manner of cargo and paraphernalia to his sides. Speaking toSaint-14will prompt him to talk about how much the City has changed, as well as his new pursuit as a “builder.” What he’ll build is a “beacon” to guide both “Guardians and Lightless alike to the Last City.” He describes how “you’ll create a monument to the Last Safe City of Earth” together.

When players first talk to Saint-14, after his initial dialogue options, he’ll have several quests for Guardians to pick up. Honoring the Lost tasks the player with killing enemies so as to honor the losses of humanity, Guardian of the People has players completing bounties so as to teach Saint-14 about modern duties, and From One Brother to Another has players gathering components toconstruct an obeliskwithin the tower. This Tower Obelisk is the key new addition from Saint-14’s new quests.
Once completing the Tower Obelisk’s construction, players will be able to interact with it in several ways. The first is by linking it to other obelisks. The second is to purchase various consumables. And the third, and most important, is to pick up bounties forTimelost Weapons. A player’s current Timelost Limit will affect how many Timelost Weapon Bounties that can be carried. More information about the new Tower Obelisk is certain to be shared in the days and weeks ahead.
Bungie continues to deliver consistently impressive content updates forDestiny 2sinceShadowkeep’s launchand the start of Year 3. Events continue to unfold as if time is passing, which can’t be an easy goal given how buggy things can often be in-game. The introduction of Saint-14 inDestiny 2isn’t just a cool reference to past in-game events and the delivery of fun new content. It’s also a hint of what’s to come next and a promise about the game’s future. Like Osiris before him, Saint-14 is certain to shake the story up Season to Season.
