Shin Megami Tenseiis a franchise that came about decades ago in 1987. Over the past tens of years it has steadily rose in popularity, withShin Megami Tensei 4being the most recent non-remake main series release. The series has also received several popular spin-offs in the form of the famousPersonafranchise. Now, Atlus has announced an onlineShin Megami Tenseiconcert for all fans.
As withPersona,Shin Megami Tenseiis in-part worshiped due to its stellar soundtrack. The franchise has hundreds of songs in its repertoire. Japanese composers Shoji Meguro, Kenichi Tsuchiya and Toshiko Tasaki are among a few of the genius writers behind the music featured in the series. Announced in 2017,Shin Megami Tenseiis also set to release a brand-new game this year titledShin Megami Tensei 5.

In an official tweet earlier today, Atlus West announced that they would be hosting aShin Megami Tenseiconcert. The performance is scheduled for March 19th EST and will feature a live orchestra playing tracks from several instalments in the series. The event appears to be a promotion for theHD remaster ofShin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, which has recently released in Japan and will soon follow suite in the US and other English-speaking countries. The concert will not be translated, but it is available for viewing by English audiences. Tickets cost 3,666 yen which is approximately equivalent to $37 USD. The performance will be conducted by Japanese artist “LaiD Back Devil” and unspecified “others.”
One thing to note is that fans must have a ZAIKO membership to watch the upcoming performance. In addition, the latest version of either Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari is also required for viewing the concert. Thankfully, there is a test stream available for users to check if they will be able to view the performance before purchasing.
Atlas has done other such concerts in the past for thewidely celebrated music of theShin Megami Tenseiseries, even holding concerts for its spin offs like in 2019 with the in-person “PersonaSuper Live” concert in Ryōgoku Sumo Hall.Shin Megami Tenseihas also had previous concerts, the most recent being a sold out show in 2017.
Fans of the series, especially US fans are sure to be excited to have a way to view the performance along with fans from Japan. Though the performance will not be translated, music requires very little translation. Theonline concert is a nice way of being safe from COVID-19while still connecting fans from all over the globe. Still, the pricing of the performance is slightly more than the cost of the 2019 in-person concert. Fans would be well entitled to wonder why they are paying $40 for an online only experience.
