It’s fair to say that more than a decade is a long time for a game to be in the spotlight. Yet despite its age,The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimisone of the most celebrated open-world titles in gaming, especially in terms of replay value. Aside from the fact that there is a lot to do and see, as well as the plethora of mods that keep coming out, Bethesda’s 2011 epic is also something of a meme with its own in-jokes. One such example comes from the game’s Whiterun guards, which one person has now made into a plush.

Uploading a video to theSkyrimsubreddit recently, user Aragog83 has shown their crafting skills by turning the aforementioned guard into a soft toy. The impressive plush has been hand-sewn with felt, jersey, and faux fur, complete with chainmail armor. It also has interchangeable accessories, such as a sword and shield. However, the most fascinating thing about this creation is that it actually talks. In the video, a number of phrases that the guards frequently say can be heard. The creator says there are 37 phrases that the plush will utter.

While there are plenty of notable NPCs in the game, such as the universally hated Nazeem or the faithful Lydia, the guards of Whiterun have become notorious in their own right, dedicating themselves to protecting the city from attacks or “lollygaggers.” In general,The Elder Scrollsseries is known for its memes, butSkyrimin particular seems to have conjured up the most famous. Perhaps the classic example comes from the guards themselves in the guise of the “arrow to the knee” line, which Aragog83 has put into their plush.

Alongside that, there are many fans who are keen to showcase all themishaps thatSkyrim’s Whiterun guards get into. Many is the time when players have spotted one of these protectors bugging out, attacking indiscriminately, or being the victim of poor luck themselves. It seems that these highly trained warriors are often the butt of many jokes among the community, though much of this mirth derives from the game’s onslaught of glitches.

As much mileage as fans are getting out ofSkyrim, many feel it’s time to move on. However, withThe Elder Scrolls 6supposedly still in pre-production, there could be years to wait until the next installment arrives. In the meantime,TES5fans can continue to poke fun at Whiterun’s guards, or in Aragog83’s case, turn them into real world plushies.
