True to its nature as a Bethesda title,Starfieldis full of miscellaneous items for characters to hoard, and one player managed to complete a collection of all 52 individual playing cards. Much like its predecessors,grabbing and moving items inStarfieldlets players interact with the surrounding environment, whether to decorate a personal space such as an outpost or to strategically position a fuel tank near an emergency door. However, unlike past Bethesda titles, the physics inStarfieldare a lot more realistic and the engine can handle a far bigger load.
Some players have used it for creative projects such as making adomino sandwich course inStarfield, while others have used it to add a personal touch to a starship’s interior. Much likeBaldur’s Gate 3, most of these miscellaneous items have unique models – no two books are the same, and there are plenty of different succulents for players to choose from.

It was ultimately this quality that made it possible for Reddit user Gjab to complete and share their collection of playing cards: a full deck assembled from individual items scattered throughout the randomized planets ofStarfield. The improved physics have also made it possible to lay the cards out on the table without needing to worry that random movement would blow the entire pile away. Humorously enough, Todd Howard recently called outStarfieldplayers for hoarding their trays and pencils, but the urge to collect useless items in a Bethesda game is as strong as it’s always been.
Gjab’s journey to collect all 52 individual playing cards no doubt took a while to complete, but thankfully, the cards themselves don’t have a high carry weight, which likely made it easier for Gjab to hoard them around in the personal inventory. While there are armor traits andperk upgrades inStarfieldthat increase carry weight, players have to rely on their ship’s immense cargo hold to store the heavy resources obtained from surveying the worlds of the Settled Systems.
Though the card collection is impressive in its own right, it is important to keep in mind that there are certain magazines inStarfieldwhich provide tangible bonuses for players who can hunt down and collect each individual issue. These skill magazines are scattered all throughout the game, and can provide permanent boons to player characters such as increased critical strike damage with ballisticweapons inStarfield, or even better efficiency when consuming food and drinks.
