Final Fantasyis chock full of siblings in both the mainline and spinoff games. For example, one of the most iconic pairs appears inFinal Fantasy 6: Sabin and Edgar. Edgar is the ruling prince of Figaro while Sabin is an aspiring martial artist. They had their differences at the start of the adventure but their old wounds healed.
A more recent example would be Joshua and Clive fromFinal Fantasy 16who also began their adventure with some fiery passions toward each other. Those are some good brotherly examples, but there are good sisters out there as well. Here’s a dive into sisterhood and look into both well-known and obscure characters.
The Magus Sisters were first introduced in the franchise inFinal Fantasy 4. They were bosses consisting of three sisters: Cindy, Sandy, and Mindy. Their next major appearance was inFinal Fantasy 10and they were still a boss encounter. However, they could also become part of Yuna’s Summoning league, or Aeons as they are called in this universe.
Also, they were remodeled to look less human and more like bugs which is odd but it makes them stand out more compared to their original versions. They are one of the strongest Aeons in the game and while they have no story or real dialogue, they’re still a cool group of sisters.

A Sister Who Deeply Cares For Her Brother’s Safety
Ai is from the lesser-known anime,Final Fantasy Unlimitedwhich isn’t even the first or only anime in the franchise. She is a young pre-teen and the sister of Yu who is the same age. Ai and Yu are Japanese students who get sucked into a fantastical world called Wonderland.
There they meetFinal Fantasystaples like Chocobos. Yu even befriends one and he calls it Choco. Of the two, Ai is the more hotheaded one but even though she may overact, she cares for Yu’s safety. More so than anything, she’s worried about getting out of Wonderland and going home to safety with her brother.
Alma is the sister of the main character inFinal Fantasy Tactics, Ramza. Throughout the game, she is either at home safe, worrying about her brother and surrogate brother, Delita, or she is somewhere else in the middle of a kidnapping. She’s kind of like Aerith in her demeanor in that she initially doesn’t do much but is sweet all the same.
For whatever reason, the Church in this game wants to use Alma to summon forth the ultimate being, Altima, which is the form she later takes. Alma is technically the final boss of the game but it’s not really her. Overall, she had a wild rollercoaster of an arc in the game but her true self never gave up hope on Ramza both saving her and bringing peace to the land.
Speaking of Aerith, fans talk about that death being traumatic inFinal Fantasy 7. However, those who grew up in 1991 know thatFinal Fantasy 4had not one tragedy, but several. This includes children, no more than five or six, turning themselves into stone to save the party.
In the game, Cecil was temporarily joined by twins Palom and Porom. Palom was a Black Mage whereas his sister Porom was a White Mage. Even though Porom was practically a baby, both she and Palom did the noble thing by sacrificing their lives for the cause. That’s not just a good sister, that’s a good character. Thankfully, the twins eventually get revived from their stone hellscape.
Reynn is part of another set of twins, making the list end at three. She is fromWorld of Final Fantasywhich was likeKingdom Heartsif those games were just about Sora jumping into specificFinal Fantasyworlds. Reynn and her brother Lann could visit locations from most of the main entries and interact with beloved characters too likeCloud fromFinal Fantasy 7.
It’s also aPokemonclone as players could capture monsters and stack them on their heads to create power towers. Reynn had the brains and drive to get things accomplished whereas Lann was a bit of himbo. He sort of breezed through life, so thank goodness he had a sister as nice as Reynn to keep him alive and on task in the game.
Iris was Gladiolus’ younger sister inFinal Fantasy 15. She may have looked like a young innocent teen, but she could kick monster butt just as much as her brother except without all of the muscles. From her wardrobe to her martial arts fight style, Iris was like a new version of Tifa fromFinal Fantasy 7.
She got to join the party temporarily several times in the adventure but she wasn’t playable like Noctis. She was a good sister as she kept tabs on Gladiolus to make sure he was psychically and mentally okay. However, she had ulterior motives too as she was deeply in love with Noctis, so it wasn’t all noble.
Lightning was the protagonist inFinal Fantasy 13who saw her sister, Serah, get cursed and turn to crystal. Afflicted by the same curse, Lightning used its abilities to her advantage. It was a race against time to fight back against the empire and get answers for Serah before it was too late.
That’s a strong motivation for a sister, but Serah is equally a good sister to Lightning. In the sequel,Final Fantasy 13-2, Serah became the protagonist and had to go through time to save Lightning. These two would do anything for each other, so it has to be a tie for number one even though Lightning appears in more games. Yes, there was a third and final chapter calledLightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13.
