In a new tweet, Kripke posted a picture of the script for the final episode ofThe Boysseason 4. The episode, the eighth of the season, is called “Assassination Run.” It’ll be written by Jessica Chou and David Reed, while Kripke will direct.The Boys' official Twitter account replied, “What a cheery title, not one bit ominous.”
The episode title is not taken from the comics. WhileThe Boys previously adapted the infamous “Herogasm"to the screen, it looks like “Assassination Run” is an original title, so even comic fans can expect surprises. It also appears that the script is only dated from earlier this month, meaning that filming on the series is likely still underway.
Fans can expect a chaotic time in season 4.The Boysseason 4 teasershowcased a Vought being run by Homelander, and it looks like the company is continuing to sweep his crimes under the rug. Not only does the clip feature Ashley (Colby Minifie) singing his praises, she emphasizes that “baseless accusations” are plaguing the “hero.” It looks like the supe community will rally behind Homelander, and with their power backing him, Homelander might be more difficult to beat than ever before.
In fact, with the new imprisonment ofJensen Ackles' Soldier Boy, the Boys have lost their strongest weapon against Homelander. Though he was unreliable and a liability all on his own, Soldier Boy’s abilities were key to Butcher’s (Karl Urban) plans for killing Homelander. Without him, the Boys may have to find a new weapon that can only hope to leave a scratch on Homelander.
The Boysseason 4 will premiere sometime later this year or early 2024 on Amazon Prime.
