Summary
The Finalsreleases update 1.10 which continues to add quality of life improvements and bug fixes, as well as brand-new content including a Smoking Guns limited time mode and a community challenge. Since launching back in December during The Game Awards,The Finalshas constantly been evolving. Part of that has been with consistent updates aimed at balancing some of the abilities and fixing major issues impacting the game, as well as adding new content to the overall experience.
In January,Embark Studios released its first limited time mode called Solo Bank It, though in recent updates, things have gotten a bit more unique with Steal the Spotlight, and its Valentine’s Day-inspired reward challenges. However, not every new game event has been a hit with players, as earlier in February, the Dead Go Boom event was removed early due to frustrations over how it negatively impacted melee specific players. With this latest update,The Finalsplayers have a brand new in-game event to take part in with its own set of rewards.

As Embark has been doing in recent updates, this latest patch refreshes the available content for players, with the big addition being known as the Smoking Guns event. Transforming the Monaco map into something out of the old American West, players will be taking part in a Single Round Tournament thatThe Finalsplayers experienced in the game’s beta. Essentially, four teams enter and compete to see who can bank the most money first. Naturally, the event also comes with it’s own contracts and rewards, with players who are able to complete all of them earning the High Noon Noir outfit.
Alongside Smoking Guns, Update 1.10 also activates a new community event, as players are tasked with cashing out a combined $250.000.000.000 in just seven days. If the community is able to pull it off, all players are promised a mystery reward, with some players even taking home a t-shirt. Embark has the full details on theirofficial Discord serverunder their server announcements channel. Outside of new content,The Finalsplayers are seeing additional fixesand quality of life updates impacting areas of the UI, performance, and other gameplay features.
After launching out of the gates with a shadowdrop during The Game Awards 2023,The Finalshas seen a big dip in its player count. Recent updates have attempted to counteract this by adding in new content and game modes on a limited-time basis, rotating new ways to play to keep things fresh. Though with this new community challenge, it’s likely that Embark is not only attempting to keep players invested, but also provides a reason for lapsed players to log in again as well.
