It has recently been announced that theupcoming Future Games Showwill feature a treat for expectant fans ofLord of the Rings: Gollum. With the event kicking off on March 25th, one of the few details that fans have been privy to is that the pre-show will center around Daedlic Entertainment.

During the 15 minute segment, Daedlic Entertainment will give fans a look at seven of their upcoming titles including their most anticipated future release,Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Beyond a cinematic teaser trailer that was released last year, fans have been given relatively little to go on in terms of gameplay. The game has been loosely described by Daedlic Entertainment as an action-adventure stealth game in a similar vein to thePrince of Persiaseries.

WhileLord of the Rings: Gollumwas recently delayeduntil 2022 at the earliest, fans have been anticipating a unique experience by stepping into the shoes—or lack thereof—of the sometimes loved more often loathed Tolkien character. Beyond the stealth-centric action gameplay, players will play through an enthralling narrative and be forced to make moral-based choices on behalf of Gollum. The expectation is that players will be placed at the forefront of the inner struggle between the innate good of Sméagol and the insidious evil of his Gollum persona.

Like all games based on theseries,Lord of the Rings: Gollumhas drawn massive amounts of fan attention. On the release of the cinematic trailer, many fans were upset about the cartoon-like graphics presented, instead wishing for a more realistic approach. There has also been the growing anticipation of players' choices being incidental to the narrative, a common problem with games that promise difficult moral choices at the heart of their gameplay. Despite the expandingwishlist forLord of the Rings: Gollum, fans will have to remain patient until at least the 25th when they get their first real look at the game. While Daedlic has not revealed the nature of its upcoming sneak peek, recent screenshots suggest that the studio could have gameplay footage prepared.

After the Daedlic-centric preshow, fans should stick around to see the full showcase. They can expect a similarly packed show tolast year’s Future Games Show. This year’s lineup includes Warner Bros. Games, SEGA, EA, and over 30 more companies participating in the event. So, even if fans are underwhelmed by theLord of the Rings: Gollumreveal at the onset, there will be plenty to satisfy their curiosity throughout the show.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollumwill launch in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
