Virtual reality is one of those technologies that was bandied around for many years, but it’s only relatively recently that it’s become a much more formidable way of interacting with digital worlds. There are manyfantastic free VR games out there, such asSpider-Man: Far From HomeandSurgeon Simulator: Meet The Medic, so it’s starting to find its home among gamers. With the likes ofSkyrimVR, players are given a much more immersive experience and sometimes that can lead to some mirthful antics.
In a recent post on the gaming Subreddit, user BlackNair has uploaded a video of them playing the VR mode fromSkryimonly with a bit of a twist. Using a new mod called “PLANCK - Physical Animation and Character Kinetics,” they are able to interact with the environment in new ways. In this case, they can be seen grabbing the much hated NPC Nazeem by the collar, and proceeding to slap them silly while the character simply looks on devoid of emotion.

For those who are perhaps not as familiar with the game as others,Nazeem is one of the most despised Skyrim NPCs, with one player dedicating themselves to killing him every day untilThe Elder Scrolls 6is released. His general snobbery about how the player has undoubtedly never been to the Cloud District has caused many gamers to view the Redguard citizen with nothing but disdain. This just makes the clip of the Dragonborn slapping him multiple times even funnier, especially with the sounds being made.
The resulting video is genuinely hilarious to watch, but it also showcases what can be done in the mod. Some may bequestioning whetherSkyrim VRis worth it, but with PLANCK, there are new character interactions, along with greater physical accuracy when it comes to melee hit detection, and more. According to the description page, it “fundamentally changes” how characters in the game are animated and means that players can “physically influence” other NPCs using their hands or weapons. And yes, it will also allow fans to pet dogs as well.
In general, playing the game in virtual reality will do wonders for thegorgeous locations that exist withinSkyrim. It’s already a beautiful looking game, so the addition of a VR headset increases that immersion even more. However, it’s probably fair to say that seeing users like BlackNair doling out slaps to Nazeem in the middle of the street will likely make more people want to try out the PLANCK mod.
