Tower of Fantasyhas announced a compensation plan in a letter to players to apologize for issues with their servers during the games launch. The new shared open world MMORPG released worldwide August 10 and began running into login and registration issues almost immediately, forcing theteam to decide how to placate those affected.
Developed by Hotta Studio,Tower of Fantasyis set in apost-apocalyptic world that maintained some technological advancementsand features raiding and boss battles alongside a gacha system for acquiring new characters. The game also announced it had over 4 million pre-registration sign-ups globally before launch across PC, Android, and iOS.

In “A Letter to Wanderers (Vol.5)” on the game’s website and Twitter, theTower of Fantasyteam announced players who registered before August 11 would be given 300 Dark crystals due to some players being unable to log in to the game servers or getting repeatedly disconnected. Another 300 Dark crystals will be sent to compensate for players being unable to register or login to their accounts. The final rectification item announced is 10 Gold nucleas for all players registered before August 17, an item used in the gacha mechanic that guarantees a SR or better character drop. The company claims all these issues have been fixed, and direct players with the same or new issues to its FAQ page for more answers.
The 600 Dark crystals can be used to purchase in-game items such asIdentity Update Cards to adjust characters' looks, Gold, Gold nucleas, and Red nucleas. Even though they can’t be bought directly, players can earn Dark crystals as mission rewards in-game and as a bonus reward for purchasing Tanium,Tower of Fantasy’s currency bought with real money.
Even with numerous examples of these same type of issues occurring repeatedly with each new highly anticipated launch, players continue to experience day one issues with alarming regularity. For a game that had 4 million pre-registrations, most users may have been wary of problems withTower of Fantasy’s launch, and may feel duly compensated with a currency that can be used to buy more pulls of the gacha machine. Only time will tell if it is enough to bring back those who left without being able to login or deleted the game out of frustration.
