While manySid Meier’s Civilization 6fans believed that theNew Frontier Pass was going to be the last batch of DLC, a recent graphic that appeared online suggests that there is more DLC on the horizon in the form of aLeader Pass. TheLeader Passwas discovered by Reddit user zegalsp on r/civ and many users also confirmed the existence of the graphic over on theCivilizationwebsite. However, the graphic has seemingly vanished and Firaxis has made no official announcement that more DLC is coming. Instead, theCivilization 6community has been left to hypothesis about what thisLeader Passcould mean.

The most common theory is that theCivilization 6Leader Passwill includenew alternative leaders for the various civilizationsin the game. Currently, only two of the civilizations have alternate personas while two other leaders can represent different civilizations. This means that the concept of alternate leaders is already baked into the game, and the leaked graphic hints at more alternate leaders for pre-existing civilizations. What these will entail and if they are actually real is yet to be determined, but it has gotten the community excited for what Firaxis may be secretly planning.

The Leader Pass Leak Explained

On November 9, theCivilizationwebsite displayed a graphic that depicted four leaders that are not present inCivilization 6along with the nameLeader Pass. No one could interact with the graphic, and it has since been removed from the website. Many Reddit users were able to see it before it was removed, and the rumor mill has been going strong ever since. There has been no official word from Firaxis, but many believe that this is a confirmation ofanother wave ofCivilizationDLC.

The graphic displayed four new leaders that all represent civilizations that are already inCivilization 6. Reddit users have been able to identify Abraham Lincoln who wasa playable leader inCivilization 5and what seems to be Queen Elizabeth I, who has appeared in every singleCivilizationgame exceptCivilization 6.Users also believe that the other two leaders are Nzinga of Ndongo and possibly Ramesses from Egypt. While this is all pure speculation, some of these leaders have been requested by the community for a long time and would surely shake up the game a bit if they were released.

What The Leader Pass Means for Civilization 6

If theLeader Pass is a real thing then players can probably expect a series of new leaders released over the span of a couple of months likehow theNew Frontier Passcontent rolled out. If Firaxis follows the model it used for theNew Frontier Pass, then players may be able to purchase each leader separately or buy the entire pass outright. While the graphic only shows four leaders, there is a small chance that Firaxis could have more up its sleeve since it kept much of theNew Frontier Passunder wraps, and that could give players many reasons to boot the game back up.

The release of more DLC forCivilization 6may also mean thatCivilization 7is still a ways off, and many fans of the series are upset by that. While new content is great,Civilization 6released in 2016 which means that the series has not had a major entry for six years now. There are no signs that aCivilization 7is in the works, and this DLC could mean that it is even further off as Firaxis tries to keep the title alive for now. New DLC at this point is a double-edged sword, and it has not stopped fans from getting excited about the possibility.

There is no confirmation that theLeader Passis a real thing, and Firaxis has not said anything about the graphic yet. The graphic points tothe newCivilization 6DLC’s possible existence, but players will just have to wait for an official reveal from the studio. For now, all they can really do is hypothesize about the contents and analyze the image as they prepare to click one more turn.

Civilization 6is available now for Linux, Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
