Summary

The general reception surrounding theAssassin’s Creedfranchise has been somewhat teetering on a knife’s edge for quite some time now. While the series undoubtedly needed a big change after the repetitive 2010 annualACreleases, many fans weren’t too keen on the major shift towards the RPG genre, and thoughOrigins,Odyssey, andValhallaare all objectively good games, they’ve driven a big wedge into the fan-base. But coming hot off the heels ofAssassin’s Creed Mirage, theACfranchise might have found a new way out.

While it definitely wasn’t perfect,Assassin’s Creed Miragewas a nice throwback entry in the series, giving long-time fans the return to basics they’ve pleaded for for years. For the first time in a long time, it really feels likeAssassin’s Creedcould be this limitless franchise once again, taking players anywhere and everywhere with each new entry, and hopefully 2024 will double down on that feeling.

Assassin’s Creed Red Is Rumored to Launch in 2024

The next mainline flagship title in the franchise,Assassin’s Creed Red(which is still just a codename) could potentially release in 2024, at least if the latest rumors are true. Back in July 2023, a Ubisoft employee posted about working on the “biggest blockbuster of 2024.” ManyAssassin’s Creedfans ran away with this little detail - which has since been removed - believing it to be a big hint thatAssassin’s Creed Redwill launch at some point in 2024.

Of course, this is just a rumor and a tenuous one at that. Still, it is time a newflagshipAssassin’s Creedtitlewas released. It’s been a little over three years sinceAssassin’s Creed Valhallalaunched, and whileMiragehas just come out, it isn’t considered a flagship entry in the franchise, but more of a stop-gap in between. IfAssassin’s Creed Reddoes end up dropping in 2024, then fans can probably expect to see a debut trailer in the coming months, with the most likely place being a potential Ubisoft Showcase in June.

Assassin’s Creed Jade Could Release in 2024

One of Ubisoft’s first proper forays into theAAA mobile gamingmarket,Assassin’s Creed Jadecould also end up releasing in 2024. WhileAssassin’s Creed Jadedoesn’t currently have any release window at all, it did host its first closed beta back in August 2023, presumably meaning that the game is quite far along in development. While this beta could have flagged up some major issues that the general public is unaware of due to NDAs, if everything went smoothly, then every fan might be able to get their hands onAssassin’s Creed Jadelater this year.

Fans Could See More From Assassin’s Creed Hexe, Infinity, and Invictus This Year

RedandJadeare just the start of what Ubisoft currently has in the works for theAssassin’s Creedfranchise. Announced years ago now,Assassin’s Creed Hexe,Infinity, andInvictusare all presumably moving along steadily in development, and there’s a solid chance that Ubisoft will reveal more about these projects at some point in 2024.Assassin’s Creed Infinity, intended to be a live-service platform for the series, is probably the most likely candidate for a full reveal this year, having been announced all the way back in July 2021.
