After a long wait, Sony finally revamped PS Plus by transforming it into a three-tiered service. While each tier offers players different features, the most expensive one, PS Plus Premium, allows players to revisit their favorite titles from the PS1 and PS2 eras. Of course, since its launch, the Classics Catalog has featurediconic games such asResident Evil, Ape Escape, and many more. However, there is still so much PS Plus Premium could offer, including another Capcom franchise calledDino Crisis.

For the uninitiated,Dino Crisisis a survival horror game born out ofResident Evil’spopularity in the late ’90s. However, instead of zombies and monsters,Dino Crisisputs players against savage dinosaurs transported into the present. WhileDino Crisisdid not receive the same success asResident Evil, the franchise did attract a large fanbase, making it highly likely to be added to PS Plus Premium’s Classics catalog.

As previously mentioned,Dino Crisisdid not receive the same level of popularity asResident Evildespite the two having the same creator. Despite this,Dino Crisisbecame a full-fledged franchise, spawning three main entries and a couple of spin-off games. Unfortunately, after the low reception received byDino Crisis 3in 2003, the franchise essentially ended and hasn’t released a single entry for almost two decades.

However, while Capcom isn’t planning on releasing a newDino Crisisgame anytime soon, especially since the studio is working ona new dinosaur-oriented game calledExoprimal, player interest in the franchise was reignited in 2019. It is worth remembering that 2019 saw theResident Evil 2 Remakerelease, sparking conversation on which game Capcom should remake next. SinceDino Crisishas long been on hiatus, bothResident EvilandDino Crisisfans expressed their interest in seeing a full-fledged remake of the first game.

As it turned out,Capcom caught wind of the renewed interest inDino Crisis, and the developer said in a tweet that it is open to reviving the franchise if enough fans call for it. Unfortunately, nothing came out of Capcom’s statement, given that the studio never released or even announced a remake ofDino Crisis. But, of course, while the demand of fans may not warrant a full-fledged remake, the fact that people are still talking aboutDino Crisisnearly two decades later is a sign that it is still popular enough to at least be re-released via PS Plus Premium.

Dino Crisis on PS Plus Premium Rumors

As of writing, Sony and Capcom haven’t released any official information pointing toDino Crisisjoining PS Plus Premium’s Classics catalog. However, rumors have been swirling online, indicating that there may be plans to releaseDino Crisison PS Plus soon. Before PS Plus Premium’s release, a Reddit user claimed they came across an image on their PlayStation console showinggames that would be released to PS Plus Premium, includingDino Crisis, among many others.

More recently, another image was posted on Twitter, showing a screenshot taken from PS Plus Premium Italy listing games that will be released on the service. The screenshot showed thatDino Crisisis one of the alleged games coming to the service alongsideRidge Racer 2, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, No Heroes Allowed!andLocoRoco Midnight Carnival. Unfortunately, Italy’s PS Plus Premium page has since updated its post, removingDino Crisis, Ridge Racer 2,andSoulCalibur: Broken Destiny.

Of course, it is important to remember that both rumors should be taken with a heavy grain of salt, especially since creating these alleged screenshots is pretty easy. WhilecurrentDino Crisisrumorsmay not be credible enough to guarantee the possibility of the franchise coming to PS Plus, the series still has a solid fanbase. While a remake of the game may be a pipe dream, for now, seeingDino Crisison PS Plus Premium is not at all unlikely, especially since the primary purpose of the Classics Catalog is to allow players to revisit their favorite retro games.
