Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotrecently announced that it was getting PS5 and Xbox Series X, alongside new content as part of its season pass 2, but it may not end there. Many fans know that the firstDLC is based on the Bardock Saga, but it’s the first of three coming in 2023. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out, as it may have surprised many fans who thought the game was done and over with.

Moreover, recent rumors suggest that Season Pass 2 won’t be the final selection of DLC too. According to Twitter user @DbsHype, who has accurately reported onDragon Ball Z: Kakarotand related content in the past, this is just the start of a whole slew of DLC.Dragon Ball GTmay not be high on that list, if there is a list, as it is perhaps the least popular selection of Dragon Ball content, but it does have its fans. And the language would imply that, sooner or later, perhaps it will come to the game too.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Could be the Xenoverse 2 of RPGs

More specifically, DbsHype stated that multiple DLCs were coming to the game “covering all kinds of different storylines” and states that it’s essentially getting theXenoverse 2DLC treatment. Fans of the fighting game know that its character roster has continuously updated since launch, including yes, withDragon Ball GTcharacters. This is exciting for fans, as it means the RPG adventure of Goku’s journey isn’t over.

However, it’s very likely thatDragon Ball Z: Kakarotfocuses on missing DBZ storylinesfor the time being, as there is plenty of content still missing from the game. Unless it were to make a proper sequel likeDragon Ball Super: KakarotorDragon Ball GT: Kakarot, it makes the most sense to slowly work through this content and be as comprehensive as possible. Perhaps Bandai Namco’s idea is to make it the most comprehensive game of Goku’s life story, and that in and of itself is a big draw for fans to keep coming back. Waiting for and playing through a full game based onSuperorGTis certainly welcome, but parsing that out through DLC makes sense too.

After all, there would no doubt be temptation to go toSuperonceDBZis finished inKakarot. It’s going to take time to finishDBZanyway, butGTcould be a good segue between the two sinceDragon Ball Super’s storylineis still ongoing. It’s still a wait for any content outside theDBZsphere, but fingers crossed that fans ofGTaren’t ignored as this game expands its scope.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotis available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will launch on June 05, 2025.
