Summary
The Simsfranchise has seen a lot of quirky characters over the years, and the latest edition,The Sims 4, continues this tradition with the possessed people of Strangerville and the creepy bloodsucking Straud vampire family. While there isn’t much danger in playthroughs ofThe Sims 4, these characters combined with the presence of dangerous beings like The Mother give room forMaxisto bring back a previously explored dynamic to the series inThe Sims 5.The Sims 2, the formative installment of the franchise, had a few pre-made characters that gave players the creeps, and many believed one in particular among these eccentric beings was a serial killer.
Death is an unavoidable part ofThe Sims' gameplay, and the Grim Reaper comes for all Simlish speakers sooner or later, through advanced age or innocuous accidents that can send players to an early grave. However, some players believe there aren’t enough perilous occurrences in the day-to-day activities of their avatars, and actively seek out mods from the community to add some danger to their playthroughs. Previouseditions ofThe Simscan give Maxis ideas to implement inThe Sims 5in this regard, and the restoration of Olive Specter’s mysteriously graveyard-dominated lot fromThe Sims 2will add much-needed nefarious elements to the franchise.

Olive Specter’s Murdering Element Could Ignite The Sims 5
A cursory glance around Olive Specter’s yard caused the hairs on the backs of many gamers' heads to rise back inThe Sims 2, as her lot contained a lot of burial sites. An investigation into Olive’s life reveals she is a three-time widow, and only her third husband, Ichabod Specter, died a natural death from old age. The fishy deaths of her other two husbands, and the sheer number of Sims buried around her house, have led gamers to label her a serial killer. This tag may not be unfounded, given Olive’s behavioral patterns and history with theGrim Reaper.
Some graves around Olive’s house are not directly linked to her actions. Her sister Willow drowned with her husband Creon, and both have their final resting place in her garden. HerStrangetown-native parents also died in a fire, and there’s nothing to suggest Olive had a hand in any of their demises, although one would say the family is cursed. The murders connected to Olive Specter begin with Earl E. DeMise, her first love, who left her at the altar. He died soon after by electrocution, and fans assume that Olive murdered him to get revenge for being jilted. Rigger Mortis and Hugh Thanasia—her husbands—would follow, and Olive is said to have confronted the Grim Reaper at some point after their deaths.
However, this confrontation doesn’t go as planned, as Olivefalls in love with the Grim Reaper. Her son, Nervous Subject, is believed to have been fathered by the Grim Reaper since there is no record of his father in his genealogy. Eventually, social service takes Nervous Subject away, and Olive grows lonely despite living with her niece. Her killings after Earl E. DeMise are said to be an attempt to see the Grim Reaper again, and the number of graves along with her mean temperament support the notion that she is a serial killer.
While Olive is an ordinary character inThe Sims 4, Maxis should restore her legend and allow her to go on a killing spree once again inThe Sims 5. As a lot of her targets were service people, players in these careers would have to be wary of the woman or face the Reaper’s scythe. With the Get to Work expansion pack from The Sims 4, detectives could even play a role in catching Olive in the act, adding to the game’s mouthwatering possibilities.
