World of Warcraft Shadowlandsmay not have an exact release date just yet, but that isn’t stopping MMO fans frompre-ordering the upcoming expansion and starting to unlock their digital rewards early. As always, certain editions of theWoWexpansion include some extra goodies and provide players with some tasks and activities to concentrate on the months before the upcoming expansion actually releases. One of those items this time around is the very fashionable Vestments of the Eternal Traveler transmog set.

The brand new transmog set was design and released to celebrate the pre-Shadowlands era ofWorld of Warcraftand players who manage to unlock the quest are able to head out and start grinding items to unlock the new look. Once unlocked, the appearance will be available on all eligible characters for the account. Although the new set quest does directly connect back to certain pre-order purchases, players actuallydo not need to pre-orderShadowlandsin order to get the quest and unlock the set.

To unlock the Vestments of the Eternal Traveler transmog set, players need to complete The Eternal Traveler quest. The trickiest part about accomplishing this is actually finding and starting the quest. The quest is offered by Xolartios, but to get them to spawn players need to interact with the Guiding Orb, which is located on the back of the Ensorcelled Everwyrm. This is where the pre-order bonus comes into play. The Ensorcelled Everwyrm is a mount reward forpurchasing the Heroic or Epic Edition of Shadowlands. That said, players don’t need to own the mount themselves in order to pick up the quest.

This means that players just need to find someone on their server who has pre-ordered the Heroic or Epic Edition of Shadowlands and ask them to mount up nearby. After that, it’s easy enough to interact with the orb on someone else’s mount, spawn Xolartios and grab the quest. Alternatively, the player who is already on the quest should be able to share it, which removes the requirement of visiting the mount. Either way, it’s easiest to just find a buddy who has already committed to a pre-order and get the quest from them one way or another.

Once the quest is obtained, the grind is on. It’s not a lengthly chain or anything, but players do need to gather 40 Echoes of Mortality. It’s a random drop frommobs in Kul Tiras or Zandalar(and their corresponding dungeons), so players basically just need to pick a spot and start the grind. Some reports indicate that it took roughly two hours or so of dedicated grinding to hit 40. That’s a pretty low drop rate, but it’s not exactly a quest that’s meant to be completed in one sitting for the average player.

Once those are obtained, the quest is over and player should be able to unlock the new transmog set and try it on. This should be a nice break from the Legendary Cloak leveling grind for players who are getting someBattle for Azerothendgame fatigueor a nice way to transition back into the MMO for players who have been taking a break and are getting ready to dive back in to experience Shadowlands.
