World of Warcraftis finally giving a certain legendary character his due with a proper boss fight. This majorWorld of Warcraftcharacter is set to appear during an encounter in the nextDragonflightdungeon.

Blizzard recently gave players a first look at Patch 10.1.5,Fractures in Time–the next content update forWorld of Warcraft. There are plenty of exciting features coming in the patch, but the newDawn of the Infinites mega-dungeon coming toDragonflightis perhaps the most interesting of them all.

Though this new mega-dungeon is set to feature important figures from acrossWarcrafthistory, one character in particular stands out among the crowd: Grommash Hellscream. The legendary Orc war hero is set to appear as the boss of the Time-Lost Battlefield encounter for Alliance players. Unlike his uncorrupted appearance inWarlords of Draenor, this version of Grom features the fel-corrupted green skinfans will recognize from hisWarcraft 3appearance.

Grom is a major figure fromWarcraftlore. He was the first Orc to drink the blood of Mannoroth and inflict the curse upon his people, while also being responsible for slaying Mannoroth and lifting the curse years later. The legendary figure was also the father of Garrosh Hellscream–one of the most infamous characters inWorld of Warcraft–and was originally supposed to be the final boss of theWarlords of Draenorexpansion before the developer shifted gearsin fear of oversaturating the game with Orc bosses.

Now, it seems Grom is finally getting a proper boss fight, and many fans couldn’t be more excited. Hellscream is a fan-favorite who led manyOrc fans inWorld of Warcraftto play Arms Warriors just to emulate him. Many hope the encounter will drop the high-res version of Gorehowl–the legendary ax wielded by both Hellscreams–that was never made available after it appeared inWarlords of Draenor. Given how coveted the original iteration of this weapon was when it dropped from Karazhan, the item would be a must-have for many transmog collectors.

A few players did point out that the new green-skinned Grom Hellscream model was missing a few key details, however. Iconic depictions of the Orc feature him with glowing red eyes, a full black chin tattoo, rather than a single patch, and deep purple coloration on his pauldron and armor, rather than the generic red used bythe Horde inWoW. These fans would love to seeWorld of Warcrafttweak Grom’s design before the mega-dungeon is released, but they are excited to see the legendary character take the battlefield either way.
