So far,WoW SoDhas not been shy aboutincluding quality-of-life featuresthat encourage players to experiment with new builds and try new things. One long-requested feature is Dual Specialization, which allows players to have two sets of Talent trees that they can swap between whenever they like.

Finallyadded in Phase 3 ofWoW SoD, Dual Spec can be unlocked much earlier than in vanillaWoW– and it’s significantly cheaper, too. This guide explains what exactly Dual Spec is, what it applies to, and where the Dual Spec trainer is for both Alliance and Horde players.

WoW SoD Dual Specialization, Explained

Dual Spec is essentially a way for players to have two sets of Talents that they can swap between at any time. Instead of heading to a class trainer and spending gold to reset Talent points, Dual Spec lets players have a backup Talent tree that can be activated anywhere as long as they are out of combat.

InWoW SoDDual Spec only applies to Talents, and will not automatically equip new gear, re-organize your action bars for new skills, orassign new Runesthat are more suited for your second build. Unless you use specificSoDaddons, you will have to manually re-equip gear, apply the proper Runes to them, and sort out your abilities and keymappings to suit the second build.

How To Get Dual Spec in WoW SoD

Dual Spec Requirements in SoD

Back when it was first added in Patch 3.1 in April 2009, Dual Spec cost 1000g to unlock and was only available to max-level characters. In the Season of Discovery, though, players can unlock this useful feature far earlier, and for far cheaper.

To unlock Dual Spec inSoD, a character just needs to beLevel 40and have50 Goldto spend on the service. That’s it – and with all theways to make money inWoW SoD, getting 50 Gold by Level 40 is not too difficult. After getting to Level 40 and earning enough gold, head to one of two capital cities (depending on your faction) to find a new NPC who offers the service.

Players of factions should look for the same NPC, a Dwarf named Grendag Brightbeard, in either Ironforge or Orgrimmar.

Talk to him and get through his dialogue to be able to purchase Dual Spec in WoW SoD. Once unlocked, Dual Spec can be accessed from your Talents page.
