Zack Snyder’s cut ofJustice Leaguewill be one of the many films showcased at Warner Bros.' upcoming DC FanDome event. Now, the filmmaker himself has shared a preview of the teaser that will debut at the virtual event and it includes new footage of Henry Cavill’s Superman.

In May 2017, Zack Snyder stepped away from directorial duties whileJustice Leaguewas in the midst of post-production in order to focus on his family after the death of his daughter.AvengersdirectorJoss Whedon was brought on boardto continue the post-production work onJustice Leagueand would later be tasked with overseeing extensive reshoots that dramatically altered Snyder’s original vision for the film. AfterJustice Leaguewas released in theaters to mixed reviews and underwhelming box office numbers, a vocal group of fans launched petitions and campaigns calling on Warner Bros. to release Snyder’s original version of the film.

After nearly three years, those fans received their wish when Zack Snyder concluded aMan of Steelonline watch party by confirming his cut ofJustice Leaguewould be released exclusively on HBO Maxin 2021. Now, Snyder’s new teaser for his version ofJustice Leaguegives fans a glimpse at a shirtless Henry Cavill as Superman standing in front of the monument raised in the Man of Steel’s honor after his fatal confrontation with Doomsday inBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The teaser also includes new footage of Ray Fisher’s Victor Stone in the midst of celebrating a football victory before the tragic accident that transforms him into Cyborg.

Snyder, who has admitted to never seeing the theatrical cut ofJustice League, has been very open about his original plans for the film and its now-canceled sequels. Initially,Justice Leaguewas going to laythe groundwork for the arrival of DC villain Darkseid, who would be the primary antagonist in Snyder’s five-film arc. However, the underwhelming critical reactions and box office performance of the theatrical cut ofJustice Leagueprompted Warner Bros. to cancel Snyder’s sequels and reassess their own plans for the future of the DC Extended Universe franchise.

While there is a certain level of excitement about Zack Snyder’sJustice Leaguecut, others were not thrilled to see Warner Bros. essentially cave to the demands of the fans.
