Summary
One immensely talented artisan managed to create a real-life diorama of the Great Plateau fromThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. His incredible achievement adds to the ever-growing list ofimpressive arts and crafts projects inspired by theZeldaseries.
AlthoughTears of the Kingdomimproves on nearly every aspect ofBreath of the Wild, one way in which the game falls short of its predecessor is its treatment of the Great Plateau; while many fans considerBreath of the Wild’s starting area to be the highlight of the game, this location ended up being much less compelling in its sequel.
In an apparent effort to celebrate the magic of the original Great Plateau, YouTuber Scatterbrained Creations recently went through the effort of putting together a real-life diorama of thisbreathtaking location fromBreath of the Wild. The artisan spared no expense on his creation, having gone as far as to design and print his own 3D models of the ruins and scenery that ended up adorning the diorama. The portable nature of the Switch came in handy during the creation of this miniature, as the YouTuber was constantly comparing his work-in-progress to the in-game location that inspired it.
The overall attention to detail that went into the making of this diorama can hardly be overstated, because Scatterbrained Creations took the time to model not just the Great Plateau’s major landmarks like the Temple of Time and Hopper Pond, but also the minutiae of locations like the Eastern Abbey and Mount Hylia. Although the YouTuber did not disclose how long the project took to complete, he did share that the undertaking ran for about a month longer than he expected. Between that statement and his video posting history, it would appear that the model was over two months in the making.
And while the artisan insisted that he made some “major mistakes” while putting together this uniqueBreath of the Wilddiorama, the end result of his efforts is nothing short of impressive. Numerous fans reacting to his accomplishment said as much, with one YouTube user even revealing that the model inspired them to make their own diorama of Hyrule.
This incredibly detailed recreation of the Great Plateau is far from the first miniature rendition of a famous game location that Scatterbrained Creations authored to date; earlier this year, the artisan made the rounds online with animpressive diorama of Valentine fromRed Dead Redemption 2. Shortly thereafter, he created another meticulous model ofThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Kaer Morhen.
